Working together
One theme which has repeated several times at TLC last is ‘Working together’. When praying for leadership teams this was emphasised and one person said ‘iron sharpens iron’ Proverbs 27 v 17 and the verse goes on to say a friend sharpens a friend’. This came over to me very strongly that we need each other. Then Ecclesiastes 4 v 9 says ‘Two are better than one, because there is good reward for their labour together…then v 10b ‘….woe to him who is alone when he falls and has no-one to help him up’
This was evident over the past months. I had pulled a muscle in my leg and couldn’t stand for long as it was too painful, plus having to care for my husband it became quite difficult. Things still needed to be done but in the past week my brothers and sisters in the church family have brought several meals, walked the dog for me, watered the garden, done shopping, written texts offering help and prayed for us. I thank God for my church family. When there is a need people rally round without our asking and I for one am so grateful for that.
We hold the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is head of His body, the church. Under His direction the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
Ephesians 4:15 NLT
I think that says it all. Thank you Father for the love that you pour out on us so that we in turn can give that love out to others so that through this we can grow deeper into you.
