What We Believe

Statement of Faith

Trinity Life Church adopt the following beliefs of fundamental truths and believe that forgiveness, salvation and eternal life are available to everyone through faith in Jesus Christ.

GOD THE FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT

There is one God, Creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the true humanity (man) and deity (God) of our Lord Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit in His virgin birth, His death by crucifixion as the sacrifice for our sins, His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in the hope of His personal visible future return to this earth to receive to Himself the Church, that it may be with Him forever.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit was sent to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer, who through the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit is enabled to live a holy life of service in the power of God.

MAN

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and therefore stands condemned. The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

THE BIBLE

We believe the whole of the Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, the revealed will of God for the salvation of man, and the divine all-sufficient rule and authority for Christian faith, practice and life.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:23-24 ESV

RESURRECTION

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both the saved and the lost; the one to everlasting life, blessedness and joy with the Lord; the other to everlasting damnation.

THE CROSS

We believe that the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ through faith are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 ESV

THE CHURCH

We believe in the unity of the body of Christ, the Church being the sum of those who through personal faith in Jesus Christ have been born again by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.

BAPTISM

We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are available to believers who ask for them.

We believe in the practice of baptism by immersion in water for all those who have repented of their sins and who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ to the saving of their souls, and who give clear evidence of their salvation.

COMMUNION

We believe in the practice of the Lord’s Supper as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ.
